Active Health has one address, 6500 Bowden Rd STE 200 in Jacksonville, and no branches. Patients drive in from the Southside, the Beaches, St. Johns County, the Westside and Clay County, and the routes start from where you live.
Why People Make the Drive
The clinic sits just off the crossing of I-95 and J. Turner Butler Boulevard, the spot Dr. Lipp calls “Jax’s Main & Main.” I-95 runs north and south through the city. Butler Boulevard runs east to the Beaches.
Those two roads matter in a city this size. Jacksonville is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States, and the Census Bureau puts its land area at about 747 square miles. Which side of the river you start from changes the trip more than anything else.
Some people come much further. Patients travel in from all over Florida, and some fly in for a week of treatment. For the address, hours and a map before you set out, see how to find the clinic.

From Ponte Vedra Beach
Ponte Vedra is, in Dr. Lipp’s words, “a huge part of our practice.” The trip is about 16 miles from the north end of Ponte Vedra Beach, and about 11 of those miles are Butler Boulevard. We have written out the drive in from Ponte Vedra Beach turn by turn, with the landmarks you pass on the way.
Routes From San Jose, Deerwood and Ortega
From San Jose
From the University Boulevard end of San Jose, take University Boulevard West east, jog onto Philips Highway, then turn onto Bowden Road. It is about three miles, all on surface streets with no interstate.
From Deerwood
Take Southside Boulevard north to Butler Boulevard and head west to the Belfort Road exit. Belfort Road leads north to Bowden Road. It is about six miles from Deerwood Country Club, a little less from the Gate Parkway office parks, and neither trip uses I-95.
From Ortega
Take Ortega Boulevard over the Ortega bridge to Roosevelt Boulevard, then I-95 south to the University Boulevard exit and on to Bowden Road. It is about fourteen miles, and most of it is highway.
