The drive from Ponte Vedra Beach to Active Health is mostly one road: J. Turner Butler Boulevard. At the other end, physical therapy, sports medicine and regenerative care share one roof.
Ponte Vedra Beach and Active Health
Ponte Vedra is, in Dr. Lipp’s words, “a huge part of our practice.” Patients drive in from all over Jacksonville and from as far south as St. Augustine.
Ponte Vedra Beach is in St. Johns County. The county describes its beach as running 8.9 miles south from the Duval County line to the GTM Reserve. The clinic is across that county line, on the Southside of Jacksonville.
There is one clinic and one team. Physical therapy and the medical side of the practice share one building. A plan that needs an injection and the rehab after it is one trip to one address.
Driving In From Ponte Vedra Beach
- Head north to Butler Boulevard. Take Ponte Vedra Boulevard or A1A north. J. Turner Butler Boulevard (SR 202) starts at A1A in Jacksonville Beach, just north of Ponte Vedra Beach.
- Go west on Butler Boulevard for about 11 miles. You cross the Intracoastal Waterway first. Then you pass the San Pablo Road exit for Mayo Clinic Florida and the I-295 interchange.
- Take the Belfort Road exit. Follow Belfort Road north, then turn left onto Bowden Road.
- Follow Bowden Road west to No. 6500. Active Health is in Suite 200, which is upstairs.
The trip is about 16 miles from the north end of Ponte Vedra Beach and about 21 from Mickler’s Landing near the south end. Either way, about 11 miles of it is Butler Boulevard, and the same roads take you home.
The full address is 6500 Bowden Rd STE 200, Jacksonville, FL 32216. If you want to check you have the right building, call (904) 296-0202.
What You Would Be Coming In For
Care at the Jacksonville physical therapy clinic on Bowden Road starts with an evaluation and a written plan. No referral is needed. The plan can use physical therapy, sports medicine, spinal decompression, OmniWave shockwave therapy, PRP and umbilical cord tissue injections, all in the same building.
Some treatments come as a set number of visits, so you can plan the drives ahead. Spinal decompression is a set protocol of 10 to 20 visits over six weeks, and 20 visits is the protocol we recommend. It is never covered by insurance.
An OmniWave shockwave course is typically 6 to 12 sessions. Results vary from person to person, and the evaluation is where we work out which of these, if any, fits you.
