A star average tells you very little on its own. What helps is finding somebody who walked in with your problem and reading what happened to them next.
So these are tagged by what each person came in for rather than sorted by how flattering they are, and every one is reproduced word for word.
What Patients Say, in Their Own Words
Fourteen of them are printed below, chosen so that the conditions people describe are spread across what the clinic actually treats rather than clustered on one complaint.
I was struggling for years in pain after a severe car accident, resulting in herniated discs and a torn rotator cuff/labrum tear. Avoiding surgery and going to various physical therapy clinics, nothing seemed to help. Dr. Brown, Josh, and Jared are all very knowledgeable and motivating!
Dr. Lipp is amazing. I went to him with a back issue that I had since I was young. He stretched my back and relieved much of the pain immediately. More importantly, he gave me some tips, stretches and exercises to do to prevent my issue. 5 years later and I have not had one back issue since.
I am recovering from three surgeries on my hip, and Dr. Brown and his staff at Active Health have been instrumental in my healing. I have been to several PT doctors and the approach at Active Health is unique and very effective. They start each visit by analyzing my body mechanics, developing a plan for that day, explaining how and why they are treating me that way, and delivering a program of pain relief, massage, and exercise, that targets that specific area. My results have been dramatic.
I spent 15 months with a bad shoulder injury and tried therapy at 2 other clinics, without much improvement. Dr. Brown and the team had a different approach. They were able to find the route cause of my shoulder injury and bring my shoulder back to its original strength and mobility.
My problem is TMJ and cervical neck pain - They quickly identified a deficit after an assessment and now we’re working to correct it. Thank you!
I went for my tennis elbow. First time I had it, it lasted 12 months plus and the PT actually made it worse. This time, after 6 weeks I am back on the courts. They take a holistic approach and treat the source of the injury. For example, my son’s hamstring was hurting and they did an assessment and realized it was because his hips were tilted and also pointed out that this is why his lower back sometimes hurts.
I have been going to Active Health for almost 10 years now. They’ve helped me with everything from curing my plantar fasciitis to fixing issues with my hip with a Wharton’s jelly allograft injection to helping me manage my degenerative disc disease.
Before coming to Active Health, I was plagued with an undiagnosed nerve entrapment, keeping me from running for 7 months. When Dr. Brown diagnosed the problem & said he’d have me running again in just a couple of weeks, he was spot on!!
Orthopedic told me at age 45 that I had a "degenerative condition" in my quadriceps tendons. I didn't want to stop being active, so I suffered with chronic pain for 10 years until I started with Active Health last June. Pain was reduced almost immediately. In addition to treatment, I was taught a different way to walk and run (I took the run lab), and pain continued to decrease. I stopped treatment in January, but continue the daily stretches I was taught. I sit here a week away from turning 56, and I'm running without pain, walking the golf course with no pain, and there is no tenderness around the quad tendons.
I love that they don't settle for the typical medical model of pain management, but rather they help you address the root physiological causes of your pain. Dr. Brown patiently answered my 50 million questions, and everyone was invested in helping me take charge of my recovery.
These guys are the best at what they do!! I honestly didn’t believe my shoulder would ever feel this good after tearing my rotator cuff but after working with Active Health I’m almost back to normal!
In three weeks, my daughter has experienced drastic improvement in knee and shin pain, all while continuing to run on a daily basis. Dr. Lipp's approach targets the underlying issue at the source. He and his staff have been a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Active Health!
Great facility! Unmatched ability to pinpoint the source of soft tissue dysfunction. For well over a decade Dr Lipp, Dr Brown and the staff have always resolved my many physical dysfunctions brought about by tennis, biking, swimming, weightlifting, running and extensive farm work. Examples are my wrist, elbow, foot, lower back, shoulder, neck, high hamstring, psoas tightness and pelvic tilt.
Active Health has been a part of me and my six, now adult children, for over 13 years. They are our go-to for holistic healing that lasts, because they find the root problem(s), then heal the root cause. This approach has saved us from having surgeries. They have a very welcoming, knowledgeable staff from the time you enter the door or call on the phone, to the time you are finished! Can’t thank the team enough!!
What Comes Up Again and Again
Read the wall end to end and three things keep surfacing: people arrive having already tried something that did not work, the cause turns out to sit somewhere other than where it hurts, and they go home with exercises rather than an open-ended run of appointments.
They came from somewhere else first
Two other clinics. Two rounds of therapy. Twelve months of an elbow that never settled. A striking number of these reviewers had been treated for the same problem before, without it resolving.
The cause was not where the pain was
A hip driving back, neck and knee pain. Tilted hips behind a hamstring. That reframing is the most repeated observation on this page, and finding it is what the movement assessment is for.
They were sent home with work
Stretches still being done years later. Exercises worked at home under direction. The plan does not end at the door, which is why these accounts describe results that held.
The clinicians named in those quotes are real and still here. What each of them trained in is on the profiles of the team treating these cases.
Where These Reviews Come From
Every quote here is copied word for word from the practice’s public Google Business Profile, attributed to the name the reviewer posted under, and left exactly as written.
Nothing has been corrected. Where somebody typed “route cause” instead of root cause, that is how it appears, because the alternative is quietly rewriting a patient. Quotes are only ever shortened, never stitched together from separate parts of a review and never merged across reviewers.
