Dr. Jeffrey Lipp is a board certified chiropractic physician and sports injury specialist based in Jacksonville, Florida. He is originally from southwestern Pennsylvania and first came to Jacksonville to attend The Bolles School, looking for a stronger academic environment and the chance to earn a Division I football scholarship.
He continued his education and his athletic career playing college football at the University of Mississippi and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, then returned to Jacksonville to play for the Jacksonville Tomcats. He went on to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. While at Palmer he completed advanced training in Sports Injury and Rehabilitation and became Board Certified in Chiropractic, Physiotherapy, and Acupuncture. He also earned credentials as a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) and Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP®).
Early in his training Dr. Lipp came to the view that the traditional treatment model was too focused on symptoms rather than on the root causes of dysfunction, and that there had to be a more effective way to diagnose the underlying problem and treat both cause and effect. He has averaged over 190 hours of continuing education each year for more than a decade, with the stated aim of integrating methods and technologies from across healthcare disciplines into a single model of care. The result sits in physical medicine and rehabilitation rather than in surgical or pharmaceutical care: physiotherapy, rehabilitation and sports injury work aimed at restoring how a body moves.
After several years away for school and training he missed the people, the community and the energy of the Jacksonville area. He and his wife, Amanda, decided it was where they wanted to raise their family. Dr. Lipp founded Active Health in 2005, where he continues to expand the practice toward care that helps patients improve longevity and avoid unnecessary surgeries and medications. He and Amanda live in Jacksonville with their three children, Grace, Lauren and Max.
